Taking that into consideration, there is undeniably some racial coding in the Garnet. Garnet is has an afro, big hips and brawler weapons and voiced by a British Women who is black. She is also the most mature, thoughtful and the leader of the group. When pearl betrays her trust she is devastated, but learns to forgive pearl for her actions. Its kind of the crux of the show, learning to trust in one another even though nobody is perfect. Pearl on her part knows she did wrong and genuinely seems repentant. So it true, like so many other African american women in media, Garnet is a brave leader, who encompass the values of courage, forgiveness and patience . Who would ever want to be associated with those values, its unthinkable.

Garnet is my favorite character in the Steven universe show as the struggles that ruby and sapphire have had to go through to be together resonated with me the most. So seeing you completely bash her for the crime of looking black and having character that doeskin perfectly coincide with your opinions struck a nerve. However, I wont let myself get to worked up over it, this is a show about alien, sentient rocks who project light waves and take over the universe.
