YaadCode: Yaadies Code Too!
A group of budding software developers primarily based in Kingston, Jamaica are on a mission complete their Free Code Camp front end and back-end developer certifications.

Teamwork is a critical skill need by developers in any organization. Developers will be reading through the code of others a lot of the time while spending the remainder of time documenting and writing your own. An initiative such as these coding YaadCode live sessions harness the teamwork and communication skills required to be an effective developer. Every participant will be molded such that as a developer he/she will be sought after, not only for the technical aptitude he /she possess, but for the soft skills as well.

“Stronger Together”
Many developers have difficulty in going on these journey alone. How many times have you started an online course only to give up or become unable to find the time to complete the course. With other developers on the same track, at the same time, having the same vision. This becomes easier. Join the coding sessions to have constant feedback, hear the struggles of other participants at the same time, all while having a lot of fun. Overcome the hurdles together and treat this the only way it’s known to Yaadies, to win! Coding olympics, Jamaica wins.

“Culturally Thrilling”
Idioms and Technical Jargon are a constant in the world of code. Have you ever thought about the difficulty with relating to others without the same background in a new field? As you embark on a new journey with persons from similar background you realize the new idioms that arise. Documentation and White-spacing is important in code as it improves readability and is very beneficial in the long term for growing projects. A Jamaican term has been curated when it comes to code undocumented, un-commented, in dire need of refactoring — CrabToe Coding. There is no other place that you’d hear of this terminology and this happens when culture and code collide.
“ No Crabtoe coding round here! #WhitespacingMatters
