Gina, I identify with this piece and the solitary yet communioned essence of the walk you describe. I have been there, Yes, in Santa Barbara, on the beach, but in many other similar physical places as well…in New Mexico in the Sangre de Cristo mountains, in Virginia, on the beaches of Eastern Long Island, in Southern California…in Italy. There is something about a walk, whether in a city or in nature, that blends us into everything that is separated within us. I look forward to those times in my own life, and I always remember them quite vividly. This was lovely. And, I dare say, I like the idea of ‘purple’ splashers!
