People need to stop giving Hinkie credit for picks he isn’t making. The Hinkie draft picks include three centers, among two who were injured. It was only after he left that the Sixers started selecting players who could play together on the court at the same time.

Hinkie’s trades gave the Sixers assets, but Hinkie himself would have blown those assets had he stayed the same way he did when he was there. The Hinkie process was all about kicking the can down the road and most certainly not fielding a competent team.

The 17/18 Sixers, good or bad, are going to ascribed to Hinkie. That’s not fair to Bryan Colangelo, who has actually built a functional team.
