I’ll say this with all due caution: they seem to be carrying on in a steady, efficient manner. Curcio is not Bertolaso and Renzi knows that his credibility is at stake, particularly with the Constitution poll coming up.
It’s sad and heartbreaking to see so historic buildings crumble to dust, but no one was critically injured, and that’s something to be grateful for. Rome was only marginally affected, and although being shaken like a Polaroid picture isn’t great for our nerves, we’re fine.
