What Matters Most

Helping You Understand the Upcoming Changes to Waiver.

On November 1, 2016, Cardinal Innovations will be activating some significant changes to its Waiver benefits program. The changes affect a number of services and supports, so we encourage you — if you or a loved one are a Waiver recipient — please contact Cardinal Innovations or your provider agency for more information.

To assist What Matters Most clients and other Waiver participants, below is a summary of changes:

Day Supports
Currently, Cardinal Innovations’ considers Day Support as services expected to be provided daily within a state-licensed facility. The upcoming change, will now define this service as “It is expected that individuals physically attend the Day Supports facility once per week.”

Community Networking
The new definition of this service will be that it can be used only to refer and link the individual. The current service definition only allows the Direct Support Professional to provide assistance with participating provider agencies in the elected Community Networking activity.

Supported Employment
There are no notable changes to this service.
