Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are the voluntary organizations because they are free from government restrictions and they control in their functioning. Basically, their role in the society is to make a difference. They are democratic and open to all who are wishing to become the member of the voluntary organization. These non-profit organizations have recently gained respect in society due to their welfare services.

Although these organizations do seek financial assistance from the government it operates, at least tentatively, on its own programmes and principles. They have even made a place in the Five Year Plans of the government of India. The activities of NGOs are not only limited to, social, environmental, human rights, and advocacy. They can also work to promote political or social change on a broad scale. They play a significant part in the development of society, improvement of communities and promoting participation. The NGO looks after the beggars- who are mentally retarded care services in Navi Mumbai for free till the end of their lives. NGOs admission criteria have no age bar but only physically and mentally problematic people can take admission.

Many NGOs took the charge to help gain their lost self-esteem and make them self-reliant and self-esteem. In fact, there are so many NGOs who are fighting battle legally on behalf of their survivors. Apart from supporting these NGOs are playing a crucial role in guiding survivors. They fight for the rights. Today, there is a list of registered ngo in Maharashtra who are working day and night for the betterment of the country.

About the NGO

Gurukrupa is an old age home for old age and mentally retired person. It started in the year 2008, with an informal research on the mental retired people and citizens who have been suffering from ailments. This NGO was founded by Dr Nilesh Doke, who decided to support survivors. It started on a small scale gradually increased with every passing year. Now the spread of the NGO is over 6 buildings, 42 rooms, and 12 halls and presently serving 160 senior citizens and mentally retired people.
