Many of the things mankind has imagined it has learned to with the aid of machines. God has been imagined as all knowing all seeing, a wise and honest judge of Man. The loss of privacy Mr Ferenstein writes of is only a secondary component of our creation of an all seeing all knowing entity. We want to fly, we create flying machines. We want knowledge on demand, the internet and data bases. We want order, fairness and protection we create a powerful and omnipotent agent….. sorry true believers but I think the handwriting is on the wall. Is there now a dot God domain?
