Is Medium now “>140 Twitter”?

The changes recently implemented on Medium look to me like an attempt to make Medium the Twitter for tweets that are longer than 140 characters. That makes it a much more conversational, er, medium, and I think the results could be really interesting. But can it really be both a platform for this stream-of-consciousness conversation and for the long-form stuff that people take days and weeks to create and that doesn’t fit into that flow? I’m curious to know how you guys at Medium have thought about how these types of content fit together.
