Similar stories in the “other” keep-it-weird city— my adopted hometown of Austin, TX. Although I’ve been here for almost 20 years, I still wouldn’t think it would be right to claim this as “my city”. Yet I see people who’ve been here less than a decade act like they can, and are happy to cast disdain for anything that becomes too popular with the SouthBy or ACL crowds.

And, oh yes, we now have a Voodoo here as well!
