“MOBILE” IS THE NEW TELECOMMUTING…
Just love it when there are new names for old friends. Telecommuting was used and given only to the very “select”… Those special employees who had the wonderful privilege of being able to work at home a few days a week more if needed. Others were in the cubicle Monday thrugh Friday 9–5 maybe if an earlier schedule wasn’t arranged so it could be a 1/2 day on Friday if possible…Babyboomers surely had this selling point yet with their work ethic yes they earned it yet I’m sure many more could have used it. Gen-xer’s nonetheless would have done well and hopefully a few did. They were the “LatchKey” kids so being responisible has been built into their DNA…NOW “Mobile” is everyone’s friend and to the employer a potential “ally “ or “foe”.
Being Mobile is more than just a trend- It’s a “Movement” , “Lifestyle”, a “Mindset”, and it’s here to stay. It will only evolve into ways that will only get better and keep everyone even more connected as well as interconnected. “Telecommuting” created somewhat of a psuedobalance between family and the workplace now employees especially “Millenials” are demanding it. Even if it means walking away from a six figure income to “live” life.
Gen-Xer’s have been known for the dependable ones who just make things work…regardless…keep ploughing through. Ofcourse this is the more adaptable group. There were chores before the parent came home once the Latch key kid entered and empty home and honework to be completed before 6pm for rechecking. That independence, adaptability came with the territory and they have adapted well to the “Mobile” life style just like they always will when any change comes along. Yet the Millenials have taken the tourch and are running full speed ahead with it. Whatever “sacrifice” or “price to pay” to keep that ball and chain away…they are willing to pay it.
If that price is “Couchsurfing” for 6 months to a year, taking up residence in a “Tiny Home” to have a family, or just plain “CarLiving” to travel, have freedom and make money they are willing and WILL DO IT!!!.
People say the country is more divided today than ever…. maybe in various areas sure one can say that but people are awakend. The playing field has leveled and people are no longer the “pasty” and not getting recognized for the work that they do as they have put their family on the line for only a few selects to look good.
“No More” said the wet cat…will companies delegate and dictate as to who and what must be the “sacrificial lamb” or what’s deemed “Null and Void” when it comes to upward mobility and promotion. It’s a NEW WORLD and the days of just “accepting” anything are long gone. People will use their own sweat, blood, and tears to create an entity or legacy that fullfills their lives and the lives of their loved ones and help others in this aching world.
Telecommunting may have been for the select few but now “Mobility” has become…A New Way of Living.
