Small Business: Fueling the Global Economy

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are the lifeblood of the global economy. They account for a full 70% of global employment, and four out of every five jobs created in emerging markets.

Yet, SMEs generally only do work in their local markets. In emerging economies, just 4% of the services they provide are for clients in other countries, compared with 36% for large companies. This lack of participation in global trade limits their growth potential.

For the past 2 years, Globality has been focused on empowering SMEs to tap into new cross-border opportunities. Many small and midsize service providers have outstanding capabilities. Globality is searching far and wide to find these hidden gems and match them with projects for global clients. Expanding their addressable market will help them grow, create jobs and foster innovation — and will drive the benefits of globalization deeper into the world’s economies.

On the occasion of our second birthday, we’d like to take a minute to thank all the exceptional people and companies who have joined with Globality in the mission to make globalization work.

Since our first Globality Service Provider officially came on board in early 2016, Globality’s network has grown to include more than 10,000 talented professionals working at the world’s top SMEs, covering five industry sectors in more than 60 countries across six continents. Our goal is to give this community of the world’s best small and midsize service providers unparalleled access to opportunities with leading corporations to forge meaningful new business relationships.

It has been an incredible journey so far. Once again, thank you for your early support and belief in us. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made together and look forward to building on that momentum moving forward. We’re only just beginning to make an impact.
