Takes and Rankings on the Fourth Democratic Debate
“Let me make it clear,” said the woman repeating herself for the 5th time, “I REALLY don’t want to answer this question!” That’s not the true ending to the quote, but that’s what everybody paying attention heard from Senator Elizabeth Warren.
Then Bernie Sanders answered the question for her, and Amy Klobuchar applauded Bernie’s honesty.
Look. I’m #YangGang, and I want that to be transparent before I make this list. Most other debates were so painful to watch, and I simply couldn’t stand to listen to the words coming out of all these politicians. I’m sure you can relate. It was a lot easier this time — probably because the mics on stage were pretty solid tonight. The format was somewhat weak, however; moderators let candidates push right through their time without repercussion and egged on a lot of drama.
The result did lead to a juicy night of policy diversion from candidates that felt more relevant to most Americans. I feel like everybody was given a fair shot to make a name for themselves, even if the top speaker spoke three times longer than the bottom speaker.
One more note: this ranking isn’t a voter preference, but it does reflect it sometimes. (Particularly #1 and #12.) I can admit when somebody did well/struggled on a somewhat objective level.
