When I saw firehose for the first time through facebook, I was curious about them. However, my curiosity peaked when I saw the language ruby. At that time I thought I was only going to learn one language. As I started looking through the preparation program, I got more curious about the full program. I started going through the steps of building the portfolio.

It was an interesting way to display what you know and don’t know about HTML and CSS. When I started ruby and came across the three challenges, that’s when i decided I would go on to the full program which introduced me to another language, ruby on rails. The program in firehose has a reasonable prices and it is very time flexible but the knowledge gained from them is priceless and the mentor you are introduced to is based on your interest. which is a neat thing

The program introduces me to six websites to build (the sixth one being in a team) as well as a lot of challenges and quizzes. I am glad to part of the firehose community and gain the knowledge from them. I already built the splurty app. I’m currently starting on the second website while I’m building this website I’ll learn about javascript and how it is different from ruby. If anyone reads this and is interested in the program go here.

My goal is to learn a programming language that would enable me to learn other ones and in firehose this is becoming real. Especially on how to combine the languages together. i am determined to keep going on the firehose program.
