Job boards are deceptive as a representation of real job openings. In 500 Startups, they teach us to “always be hiring for the right person,” a mantra that sticks with tech companies through maturity and results in standing job posts that are simply used to collect resumes. I would say half the tech jobs posted on job boards at any given time fall under this category, and are not real openings.
