The #1 way to hit your fundraising goals is to show your team’s personality. Luckily with cheerleading, this is pretty easy! You’re spirited, positive, and always ready to toss up a pyramid.

But before you tumble into your fundraiser, consider how you might differentiate your cheerleading team. Are you an advanced team committed to helping more junior cheerleaders grow? Maybe you spread positivity beyond athletics, into your local community with volunteer work? Identify what makes your team unique, and share it with the world during your fundraising event.

Here are some ways that your cheerleading team can show your personality, plus a few extra tips for fundraising success!

Make the most of your description

When you start a digital fundraiser, all of the information about your team and fundraising goals will live online. That’s why it’s important to craft an engaging description that introduces people to your amazing team. On Aimly, you have 500 characters to tell your story. Besides the basics of your fundraiser, include some of these ideas to make your team stand out:

  • Quick highlights on what your team accomplished this year, such a hitting a new stunt or winning a competition
  • Your team’s signature cheer
  • Quotes from coaches and cheerleaders on your team
  • Your team’s long-term vision, mission, and values
  • The demographics of your team: Do you coach cheerleaders with disabilities? Does your team focus on a certain age group? Does your team represent underserved communities?

Choose a unique title

The title of your fundraiser is the first thing people will see! This is another place to show your team’s personality. Instead of “Cheerleading Fundraiser”, get a bit more personal. Include your team name, the cause you’re supporting, and word play. For example:

  • Rams Cheerleaders for Breast Cancer Awareness
  • Give us a U-N-I-F-O-R-M! Uniforms for Rams Cheerleaders
  • Rams Running for All Star 2023

Share your fundraiser on socials

Social media is a great tool to expand your fundraiser’s reach. It’s another way to let people know what your cheerleading team is about. Aimly makes it easy to get the word out by providing a unique URL to your event page. You can share the URL on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, etc. When you share to social media, consider:

  • How might you use photos to help show personality? This could mean posting team media, branding, or Canva infographics alongside your URL.
  • How might you use the caption of your post to help show personality? This could mean including more trending hashtags, cheers, or information about your team’s story.
  • How might you use music to help show personality? This could mean using a cheerleading sound, your team’s music, or a song that shows your team’s vibe.

Choose products that represent your team

If you’re selling a product to raise money, make sure your team is aligned on the right product. Aimly offers a virtual storefront for supporters to purchase gourmet potato chips, and we even take care of shipping the chips! Is your cheerleading team spirited and driven like the Feisty Fiesta Jalapeño & Cheese chips? Maybe you’re more sweet and spirited like the Hot Tropic Mango & Habanero? There’s a chip for every team and cause.

Now you’re ready to have a successful cheerleading fundraiser! Remember– any opportunity to showcase your team’s personality will go a long way.
