The GOAT Score
The GOAT Score is daily fantasy’s premier player skill rating. Think of it as your own “Madden Rating,” for every DFS sport you play.
The GOAT Score stands alone from other player skill rating services in the industry. Here’s why:
- It works for players at all levels. Unlike other rating services that heavily favor high-volume and high-bankroll players, the GOAT Score works fairly for DFS players at all levels of experience.
- It focuses on the right variables. The GOAT Score ignores variables that speak more to player characteristics (i.e. playing volume, bankroll, slate preference, time, etc) and focuses only on those that best inform on player skill.
- It’s comprehensive. We don’t just look at winning lineups in select contests. The GOAT Score accounts for every lineup a player has ever entered into a contest.
- It’s intelligent about game strategy. The GOAT Score isn’t biased to a particular contest type or slate preference. We know there are different ways to enjoy and attack DFS. We cover them all and don’t discriminate based on playing preference.
- It’s scalable. The GOAT Score immediately scales to every sport offered by a DFS operator.
- It can be time adjusted. While it can be filtered for any date range, we currently provide the GOAT Score for three time intervals: Career, 30 Days and 7 Days. If a player is on a hot streak, this will shine brightly in their 7 Day GOAT Score. We reserve the Career score to reflect the grind required to truly rise the ranks in DFS. This is an engagement feature that keeps people coming back to see, and talk about, hot streaks reflected in their score.
- It’s expertly constructed. To be the premier skill rating for DFS I knew it had to be sound in statistical theory. As such, I worked alongside a PhD of Statistics, and creator of the Wall St. Journal’s Undergraduate College rankings, to construct the GOAT Score.
Players will use their GOAT Score to fuel the competitive fires that burn in us all.
We will use the GOAT Score to empower players to find and compete with others of similar skill.
Using the GOAT Score, we will facilitate skill matched contests (both cash and tournament) on DraftKings.
Equipped with a trusted understanding that they are competing at the appropriate levels, DFS players will benefit by controlling their competition and experiencing the thrill of a good DFS “sweat” more often.
