Dear George Lucas: Padmé Amidala Deserved Better
Nerdy POC

I agree with everything you said. Padme and Anakin are the core of this trilogy and they are both terribly written characters. There is a scene in Ep II where Anakin confesses his mass murder of the Sand People to Padme, I believe he even says he murdered innocent women and children! Somehow this scene is also the moment that the two of them transform from flirting youngsters to being openly in love with each other. In that moment Padme became a serial killer groupie to me as a viewer. Her character was no longer believable from that point on in the series. Also, Padme’s ridiculous death scene was inconsistent to the continuity, because her own daughter recalled spending time with her in episode 6.
