Be Careful What You Listen To

I absolutely love music.
I also love being given advice by random people on the internet.
It makes me feel something.
Like I’m becoming a better person through the practice of consumption.
But the problem is, everything you listen to isn’t created equal.
The genius of The Beatles will annihilate any modern pop piece.
While the advice of a malicious snake oil salesman with a large audience will set you back years of development.
In this article, I will discuss why auditing your audio is so crucial to living a great life.

Let’s start with music.
Music is absolutely wonderful.
I love listening to it.
I love singing it.
And I love creating it.
But what about when you’re heartbroken?
What about when you’re feeling sad?
Or worse, what if the songs you’re listening to are making you feel sad?
That’s a problem.
Why would anyone willingly choose to feel sad?
It’s silly.
No one wants to feel sad.
Most people spend their entire lives distracting themselves in an attempt to forget how sad they are.
Therefore, listening to music designed to make you feel melancholic is not a good idea.
A few years ago, I discovered a young lad from Miami Florida.

His name was XXXTentacion.
A Soundcloud rapper who blew up in popularity.
Sadly, he also blew up his life.
At the age of 20, he was shot to death after leaving a motorcycle dealership.
