Joining a Gym was one of the best decisions in my life

Ever since I moved to Bangalore, I wanted to reboot my life routine. I have to admit that I was heavily inspired by Dexter (the TV series). He woke up every morning, prepare breakfast for himself, leave for work and usually come back to killing people. It was a strict routine and very organized.

Realization
I’m a big foodie and before, didn’t think twice before having two steaks at a dinner or ordering biryanis on alternate days. I realized I needed to get involved into some sort of physical activity before my body gives up at a later stage.

Action
Without delaying much, I started looking for clubs and activity centers and most importantly a partner. I planned on running daily but that never happened. There were clubs around but found no partner to join with me.
I am not a morning workout person and so had to find a gym which was closer to my office — that way I could easily take a break of 2 hours and come back to work. Then there was no thinking twice — Joined Gold’s gym, Kormangala which is 2 blocks away with 1 year membership and a personal trainer.

6 Weeks Later
I’m now addicted to the gym and look forward to it every weekday. I lost 3 Kgs, feel very good about myself. I completely changed my diet to:

6AM: Heavy breakfast (usually bread, jam, eggs, juice/ noodles/ Poha)
11AM: Biscuits, fruit cake, coffee/ tea
2PM: Chapati and vegetable curry
3PM: Fruit bowl
4:30PM: Oats/ Bread
7:30PM: Max Protein Bar
8:30PM: Chapati and vegetable curry

Finding a motivation was the hardest thing to do before taking this step. Quite frankly, you won’t find that around you much if you’re new to a city and all the people you know are new in your life. Honestly, I found my motivation in looking good in all the tees and shirts I buy — the tummy needs to go back to where it came from. ☺That’s it!

Also, I didn’t stop having fancy food. I just make sure I burn the calories when I hit the gym next.
