AXELOS ITIL® Certification and Training Levels
ITIL is the registered trademark of AXELOS. The ITIL® certification scheme from AXELOS provides a modular approach to the ITIL framework, and is comprised of a series of qualifications focused on different aspects of ITIL best practice to various degrees of depth and detail.
The ITIL Certification scheme structure provides a clear progression from ITIL Foundation Certification through to ITIL Practitioner Certification, ITIL Intermediate Certification, ITIL Expert Certification and ITIL Master Certification whilst allowing you to focus on the aspects that are most relevant to your role.
The tiered structure of the qualification offers candidates flexibility relating to the different disciplines and areas of ITIL and the ability to focus their studies on key areas of interest.There are five ITIL certification levels within the scheme:
ITIL Foundation Level Certification and Training:
The ITIL Foundation Certification Training is the entry level ITIL certification which offers you a general awareness of the key elements, concepts and terminology used in the ITIL service lifecycle, including the links between lifecycle stages, the processes used and their contribution to IT service management practices.

ITIL Practitioner Level Certification and Training
The Practitioner CertificationTraining is the next stage in the ITIL certification scheme. It has been developed to provide a step between ITIL Foundation Certification and the ITIL Intermediate Certification Level and aims to improve the ability of individuals to adopt and adapt ITIL framework in their organizations. One must note that ITIL Practitioner Certification is complementary to and fits in with the current ITIL certification scheme, however ITIL Practitioner Certification and training is not a prerequisite for the ITIL Intermediate Certification Level qualifications.

ITIL Intermediate Level Certification and Training
The Intermediate certificationtraining has a modular structure with each module providing a different focus on IT Service Management. You can take as few or as many ITIL Intermediate qualifications as you need. The ITIL Intermediate training modules go into more detail than the ITIL Foundation traininglevel and ITIL Practitionertraining level, and provide an industry-recognized qualification.
ITIL Intermediate (Lifecycle Stream): Addresses aspects of ITIL framework from a holistic, lifecycle perspective. Lifecycle may be more suited to those with managerial responsibility looking at the overall IT Service Management picture. ITIL Intermediate (Capabilities Stream): Prescriptive modules with detailed views of the inputs, activities, concepts, metrics and outputs of each process, which develops capabilities for best practices of IT processes, rather than just management of them. They are most useful to those who will be taking part in the day-to-day practical activities described within each of the processes:

· ITIL Intermediate Training and Certification in Planning, Protection & Optimization
· ITIL Intermediate Training and Certification in Release, Control & Validation
· ITIL Intermediate Training and Certification in Service Offerings and Agreements

ITIL Expert Level Certification and Training
The ITIL Expert Certificationtraining is the next level qualification aimed at those who are interested in demonstrating knowledge of the ITIL Scheme in its entirety. ITIL Master Level Certification and Training
To achieve the ITIL Master certification, you must be able to explain and justify how you have personally selected and applied a range of knowledge, principles, methods and techniques from ITIL and supporting management techniques, to achieve desired business outcomes in one or more practical assignments.

ITIL Certification Credit System — Your journey to ITIL Expert Certification
The ITIL®Credit System supports the ITIL certification scheme by recognizing your investment in ITIL certifications.
Within the ITIL credit system, each ITIL certification has been assigned a specific credit value, based upon its level of ITIL content.
Upon successful completion of any ITIL training and ITIL exams recognized under the scheme, a candidate will be awarded both the certification and the credits attached.
The credits earned through this ITIL certification exams credit system can then be used towards the ITIL Expert Certification level, for which candidates must have earned a required number of credits (22) from a selection of ITIL certifications, including ITIL Practitioner (3 credits), which cover the full spectrum of ITIL best practice.
The 17 credits required before Mapping across the Lifecycle (MALC) certification to advance to ITIL Expert can be earned in any order once the 2 credits for ITIL Foundation Certification Exam have been completed. ITIL Practitioner Certification Exam can be taken immediately after ITIL Foundation Certification Exam, or after completing any number of ITIL Intermediatetraining and Certification modules.
While ITIL Practitioner Certification and training is positioned on the journey towards ITIL Expert Certification, we believe that current ITIL Expert Certification qualification holders would benefit from the practical nature of the ITIL Practitioner guidance, and the extensive toolkit it includes. This view has been confirmed by candidates.
Taking ITIL Certification Training and Exam in Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad
There are two routes towards obtaining the ITIL Foundation certification — you can sit the ITIL Foundation exams at the end of attending ITIL Foundation Certification training course in Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad with an Accredited Training Organization (ATO) or Accredited Trainer, or study ITIL Foundation Certification privately and then book the ITIL Foundation Certification exam in Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad without undergoing formal ITIL training course via one of the ITIL Examination Institutes in Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad
For higher level ITIL certifications such as the ITIL Intermediate certification modules, ITIL training via an ATO is mandatory for all candidates.
