Community AI

In the ever-evolving landscape of creators and brands, the ability to construct engaging and monetizable communities has become paramount. At Circle, it recognizes the vast potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in empowering individuals worldwide.

It is with great pride that Circle introduce Community AI — a revolutionary suite of AI capabilities seamlessly integrated into Circle. This groundbreaking technology aims to facilitate profound connections within communities, empowering creators and brands to thrive like never before.

Community AI encompasses three key components:

1. Content Co-Pilot

2. Automated Transcriptions

3. Activity Scores

Let's Explore the Key Components of Community AI:

1. Content Co-Pilot: Your Writing Companion Extraordinaire

The Content Co-Pilot stands as an AI-powered writing companion, working hand-in-hand with the text editor for posts and lessons. It serves as a guiding force to conquer writer’s block, refine content, and elevate your writing process to new heights. With the Co-Pilot’s remarkable capabilities, you can generate content ideas, craft compelling paragraphs, and distil complex concepts into concise summaries — all in a conversational tone.

The Co-Pilot streamlines the content creation process, eliminating the need for external tools to generate content ideas. Say farewell to creative roadblocks and embrace the seamless creation of engaging posts and lessons within your community.

To enhance the Co-Pilot’s responses within your community, provide a concise description of up to 255 characters, highlighting the essence of your community within the Community AI settings.

2. Automated Transcriptions: Unlocking the Power of Video

The cutting-edge automated transcriptions feature revolutionizes the way your videos are experienced within your community. When you upload a video as part of a post or course lesson, Community AI seamlessly generates accurate transcripts and closed captions in your preferred language.

The benefits are immense — enhanced searchability, accessibility, comprehension, and discoverability. The generated transcription makes your video easily searchable within your community in just minutes. This means that individuals searching for specific keywords mentioned in your videos will be effortlessly directed to the relevant post.

Additionally, transcriptions and closed captions break down barriers, making your videos accessible to a broader audience, including members with hearing impairments, neurodivergent individuals, and non-native speakers.

The inclusion of a transcript viewer empowers community members to follow along, search within the transcript, and conveniently navigate to specific moments in the video. Even external search engines index your video posts if your community is publicly accessible, amplifying their reach and discoverability.

To customize the transcription experience, access the Community AI settings, navigate to the Automated Transcriptions section, and utilize the Language dropdown menu to select your preferred language.

3. Activity Scores: A Window into Community Engagement

Activity Scores are a powerful tool that grants you invaluable insights into community engagement and the effectiveness of your content and engagement initiatives. The advanced machine-learning model generates activity scores for each community member every week. It analyzes their activity over the past 30 days, taking into account several factors you have enabled within the AI settings.

These factors include:

- Presence: Measuring the frequency of visits per day and the total number of days visited within the past month.
- Contribution: Assessing the impact of likes and event RSVPs recorded during the same period.
- Participation: Quantifying the number of posts and comments made by community members within the last 30 days.
- Connection: Evaluating the level of engagement through active direct message (DM) conversations initiated within the same time frame.

The Responsible Utilization of Community Data:

Circle holds the privacy and security of your community members’ data as a top priority. Each component of Community AI is designed to utilize specific information exclusively when enabled. Here’s how it works:

- Content Co-Pilot: The AI analyzes data intentionally provided by users within the text editor, ensuring a seamless writing and editing experience without compromising privacy.
- Automated Transcriptions: Transcripts and closed captions are generated by processing the video content uploaded by users, maintaining the confidentiality of textual content.
- Activity Scores: Their machine learning model examines member metadata, such as visit frequency, posts, comments, and likes, to generate activity scores. It’s important to note that the actual textual content of posts, comments, or messages within your community is not utilized for this purpose.

How do member activity scores work?

Activity scores provide valuable insights into the engagement levels of your community members. They allow you to:

- Measure what truly matters: Customize the factors that align with your definition of member engagement and utilize activity scores to gain a deeper understanding of how engaged your community members are.

- Take meaningful action based on insights: Once you have identified highly active members, you can show your appreciation by acknowledging their contributions, assigning them special member tags, or extending exclusive invitations to events or areas within your community.

Conversely, for less engaged members, you can tailor your communication and implement strategies to re-engage them. For instance, consider setting up a targeted workflow to reach out to these members with compelling requests or offers, or simply seek their valuable feedback.

Understand score generation
Activity scores are measured on a scale of one to ten, where a score of ten indicates the highest level of engagement. The advanced machine learning model diligently updates the activity scores for each of your community members on a weekly basis, precisely every Sunday.

In order to generate these scores, Circle thoroughly analyze the activity data of your community members over the past 30 days, considering a range of factors that contribute to their engagement. These factors include the frequency of their presence, such as the number of visits per day and the total number of days visited within the last 30 days.

Additionally, it assesses their contribution by tracking metrics such as the number of likes and event RSVPs they have made during that period. They also take into account their active participation, which involves evaluating the number of posts and comments they have shared within the community.

Furthermore, Circle consider the extent of their connection with others through the number of active direct message (DM) conversations they have initiated in the last 30 days.

Once it gathered and analyzed this data, it ensures that individual member scores are not evaluated in isolation. Instead, they benchmark their activity data against the aggregated activity data of members across all other communities on Circle.

This allows it to adjust the scores, taking into consideration the relative levels of activity and any seasonal variations that may impact engagement patterns. Adopting this comprehensive approach provides you with a meaningful and accurate representation of your members’ activity levels within the context of the broader Circle community.

After conducting the analysis, the data of individual community members is compared to the activity data of members across all other communities on Circle. This benchmarking process ensures that the activity scores are adjusted to reflect the relative levels of engagement and the influence of seasonal variations.

When you enable activity scores, all four factors contributing to the scores are automatically activated. However, you have the flexibility to customize the scoring system according to your preferences. From the Community AI settings, you can choose to enable or disable each individual factor, thus including or excluding its impact on the overall average activity score. These adjustments are made in real-time, ensuring that the scores accurately represent the engagement levels of your community members.

By hovering over the assigned activity score of a member, you gain access to a breakdown of each factor on a scale of one to ten. This breakdown provides a detailed view of the member’s performance in each specific area. Ultimately, the final activity score is calculated as the average score across all enabled factors, providing a comprehensive overview of the member’s overall engagement within the community.
