Let us take you to one of the most famous and largest parks in British Columbia, Stanley Park.

Transit:

We took a bus from Surrey to Surrey Central Bay 12 and further Skytrain to Burrard station. We walked down 8 minutes to reach the Stanley Park Entrance.

The place where you can rent the bicycle is 5 minute's walk from the station (Between Station and Park).

Rent a Bicycle:

There are several shops in a row where you can rent your bicycle. We chose Freedom Bicycle shop to rent. It charges $7/hour. It took us 3–4 hours to cover the entire seawall trail as we stopped at all tourist points and took a lunch break.

Trails — Inside Stanley Park, there are various trails. So if you love to travel inside the woods, surrounded by lush green trees, You must give it a go.

Aquarium — One of the largest and most loved aquariums in Canada. Over 65,000 animals, 120 world-class exhibits, and provide 1 unforgettable experience. Entry ticket for the aquarium is $40 per person on average.

Brockton Point: Home to several popular attractions such as the Totem Poles, Nine O’Clock Gun, and Brockton Point Lighthouse. Harry Jerome Statue, H.M.S. Egeria plaque, Port of Vancouver Lookout, Pioneers Cemetery, Chehalis Cross Memorial, King Edward VII oak tree, and Captain Edward Stamp plaque. You might find people playing cricket and rugby.

Totem Poles — After you move ahead, you will bounce into 9 Totem Poles. These are monuments that represent ancestry, history, people, and events.

Lookout Point in Stanley Park — Depending on the trail, you will come across various lookout points at Stanley Park. Some points of attraction may require a detour. You will get a map of Stanley Park, so you can lead the way.

  1. Hollow Tree: A hollow tree stems as big as a car can fit in it. In olden times, people used to fit the car inside the hollow tree and use to click pictures.
  2. Beaver Lake: Watershed and draining outlet that encompasses 112 hectares of Stanley Park.
  3. Ceperlay Meadow: Large natural wetland environment with a duck pond.
  4. Empress of Japan: A Colorful monument that is a replica of the famous ship figurehead.
  5. Girl in a WetSuit: Bronze sculpture of a woman in a wetsuit, located on a rock in the water.
  6. Nature House: Nature-related exhibits and information about animals and plants found in Stanley Park.
  7. Lumbermen’s Arch: A bunch of trees stems that make a unique arch. It is also a popular meeting place.
  8. Prospect Point Lookout: You can have a beautiful ocean view and Lighthouse, which makes the best point to click your photos!
  9. Ferguson Point: It has magnificent views of the west part of the ocean. So it makes the best sunset point in Stanley Park!
  10. Rose Garden: Rose bed with over 3500 roses of various colors and varieties.
  11. Lost Lagoon: An artificial, captive 41-acre body of water near the entrance to Stanley Park in Vancouver
  12. Salmon Stream: Nature lovers or naturalists will find it pleasing to visit this place.
  13. Painter’s Circle: You can buy original paintings by licensed artists.
  14. Rhododendron Garden: It is an award-winning garden that has a combination of fragrance with bloom
  15. Beaches: There are three beaches in and around Stanley Park, namely Third Beach, Second Beach, and English Bay Beach. The best beachside is west of English Bay Beach. So you can enjoy Sunset at this beach also. There is a fun laughter park near it. See point 16.
  16. A-maze-ing Laughter Park: 14 patinated bronze sculptures, portraying them in hysterical waves of laughter. So you can mimic them and click your photos!
  17. 9'O Clock Gun: If you plan to stay near Stanley Park at 9 PM, you will hear a loud gun sound.
  18. Memorial Statues: Apart from the above, you may encounter a few memorial statues in Stanley Park, namely Robert Burns Statue, lord Stanley monument, Queen Victoria statue, President Harding statues, etc.

Things to make your trip memorable!

  1. If traveling by Bus, buy Day Pass or Compass card in advance.
  2. If you are planning to rent a Bicycle, they will write your credit card details on a piece of paper as security, so make sure when you return and leave, they destroy that paper.
  3. Don’t forget to take the Stanley Park map from the information booth near the aquarium.
  4. Stanley Park has Amphitheatre (Theatre Under the Stars) hosts live music and shows. So you can also make your plans accordingly. You can book tickets and look for information here.
