A GOLD DIGGER…AND PROUD!

Jamie Foxx sang about the type of gold digger Urban Dictionary would define as, “Any woman whose primary interest in a relationship is material benefits.”
We are raising the bar on that label as we declare ourselves a different kind of “gold digger”.
GOLD MYTHS
In Greek mythology, King Midas was said to have the ability to turn everything he touched into gold. Today, we refer to someone who is very successful in anything they do as having “the Midas touch”.
In Hindu culture (among many others) gold is considered a symbol of “wealth and prosperity”.
Both the Greeks and the Indians used to believe in placing a gold coin in the mouth of a deceased person before they were laid to rest. This was to pay their way to the after life as well as protect them from evil spirits.
Gold is mentioned over 400 times in the Christian bible (from golden calves, to bags of gold which indicated wealth, to the “New Jerusalem” which was built with gold).
Anyone familiar with Irish legend knows that there’s a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow safeguarded by leprechauns: it is thought to bring luck.
In addition to its intrinsic value, it is clear that people have always held gold in high esteem. In this, the 21st Century, people spend millions every year on jewelry and gold-adorned objects. But what of someone who has a bigger vision when it comes to investing in gold? Not everyone can pop over to their local government office and purchase a gold mine.
