Zimbabwe is a country that has resolved to embark on a quest to re-engage foreign investors since November 2017. The task of boosting investor confidence is a mammoth one considering the challenges that the republic is currently facing. Most economist would concur that the key ingredient for seasoning a stewing investment pot is confidence (forbes.com, 2009).
Every economy is dependent upon investors’ trust in its capacity to produce tangible returns. This is why the factors that influence the selection of the most suitable investment harbour go beyond profitability. Socio-economic/political factors have a huge bearing on the business environment of a country, which is why Zimbabwe has the Zimbabwe Investment Authority, an organisation that is responsible for handling foreign investment. Goldma’s mining operation, (Goldchip Investments Pvt, Ltd), left a lasting impression on the ZIA and was awarded for their efforts as a foreign investment venture.
