Many people in this day and age dependent on applications for certain purposes in their lives. Mobile Apps are the most popular because they are used for communication, transactions and information; social networking and tracking progress. This is the why the number of mobile phone owners will pass the 5 billion mark in 2019 according to Statista.
However, using Apps means the owners are privy to some of your most personal information. As it happens, there are big corporations that would pay an arm and a leg to gain that harvested data. Data mining is used to profile demographics and target specific markets. It is also used to keep users glued to their phones by necessitating its use. Basically, the longer the user spends time on the App, the greater the potential to make money for mobile App owners through advertising to a targeted group for a specific advertiser. But, who benefits the most from all this? The user? Not really! The advertiser? Maybe. …
Binance has confirmed that hackers withdrew about 7000 Bitcoin (which is approximately $40 million) from the exchange. The news is shocking and it is a clear cause for concern because one of the biggest exchanges was robbed in what appears to be a carefully planned crypto-heist. There is an uproar online at the moment as more people are now questioning the security of Bitcoin since the hackers stole so much of it from the exchange.
Looking at cryptocurrency hacks over the past few years, it is evident that exchanges are the main targets of cyber-criminals. According to the CipherTrace 2018 Q4 Cryptocurrency Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Report, about $1.7 billion dollars was stolen from major exchanges in 2018. …
Our royalty payment policy at GoldChip is to allote, divide and pay 20% of net profits per annum to GMA token holders.
This will be achieved by allotting 5% of quarterly net profits to royalty payments in the form of waves. Thus 5% of net profit achieved in each respective quarter is paid in the first, second, third and fourth quarters to all GMA holders. Effectively this means by the end of the year only 5% of net profits would have been paid as royalties.
As our policy is to allote 20% net profit per annum to GMA holders, this will be achieved by making final and full payment of 15% of the annual profits in the fourth and final quarter. …
Most people have a fundamental understanding of the fact that all children deserve to be happy, safe, fed, clothed and educated. Unfortunately for many millions of children in this world who live below the poverty line, this is not their lot in life. A majority of these children are subjected to exploitation from corporations that employ them. Despite efforts made by many international organisations to campaign against child-labour, there are corporations’ that still exploit children.
There are several cases of children working in the mining industry in parts of Africa, Asia, and South America. Even though most countries have very strict laws on child labour, it is sad to note there are countries where if such legislation does not exist. …

A few days ago, the governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, Dr. John Mangudya, announced a significant shift in our country’s monetary policy. Out went the official 1:1 exchange rate between US dollars and in with our domestic ‘currency’, the RTGS dollar and the Bond Note. One may ponder how its valuation is derived. In short, how do we value the RTGS/Bond Note? It’s possible that cryptocurrency may have a role to play here in Zimbabwe. I’ll explain that in greater detail but first, I’ll provide a background to help contextualize everything.
In 2008, Zimbabwe experienced empty shops, dry petrol stations, and prices that seemed to change by the hour. That is what the collapse of a fiat currency looks like; an economy that ceases to function. To right the ship, the government made legal tender, several foreign currencies. The American dollar rapidly became the dominant player in this multi-currency basket. This change in policy proved fantastic in bringing stability back to the Zimbabwean economy. Since 2009 to 2012, the economy grew at an average rate of nearly 10%. Seemed like good news, but not quite, and for a number of reasons. …
According to the latest edition of the World Bank’s Migration and Development Brief, released, the bank estimates that officially recorded remittances to developing countries will increase by 10.8 percent to reach $528 billion in 2018.

The time and money involved in international transactions can be too much when there are complications. Thankfully, Blockchain as a cutting edge developing technology eases some of these challenges. …
