The Meaning of Freedom and MMT
A conversation with Geoff Ginter
2 min readNov 28, 2018
Geoff Ginter is a sharp advocate for single-payer health care in the United States, and the economic lens known as modern monetary theory, or MMT.
He became an online sensation in 2017 after a video clip went viral of his interaction with Rep. Tom MacArthur at a town hall in Willingboro, NJ, where he confronted MacArthur about his vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
Our discussion touches on the above, along with Geoff’s thoughts on the incomplete story of freedom held by many Americans, the importance of implementing a federal job guarantee program in the U.S., and more.
