AMA Topic: Bringing XOCIETY to GGG’s Community
On April 20th, 2023 at 12:00 pm (UTC), the XOCIETY team joined the GGG’s Discord Server to connect with our community and answer numerous questions relating to XOCIETY’s recent major development updates, tech, progress on the journey so far, and the plans moving forward. Head of Community for XOCIETY team — Mr. Ryan Chown took part in a particularly epic AMA session, sincerely greeted our community, and discussed the project in more depth. This live AMA is exclusively special because there is a live question session for our community to win the prize pool of $100.
Whether you were unable to attend the live event or just want to review the highlights, this recap will provide you with a comprehensive overview of the key takeaways from the AMA.
PART 1: GENERAL REVIEW
XOCIETY Overview
XOCIETY is a brand-new gaming experience under development. Starting with a well-developed MMOTPS core, progressing to land and resource ownership with robust tokenomics and a creator economy.
The Great Team
XOCIETY’s team is made up of a core of 50 developers, animators, and more, and all of them have significant experience with Web2. A lot of the team members have worked with each other for more than 10 years. Collectively, we’re known as NDUS.
A 7-person strong leadership team. All of whom have had significant success in previous projects. Some of the stars of this team include Sang Chung, Business Director, who previously lead PlayDapp’s business team. Leading them to be the first Korean Web3 studio to list on multiple exchanges, including Binance and Coinbase. From the world of Web2, he worked for industry leaders such as NCSOFT & ItemBay.
Adding to the business team is MJ Lee, the Author of Ragnarok comics. He’s the former art director of Gravity games for Ragnarok Online. The popularity of his work was instrumental in getting Gravity to be the 1st Korean Game Studio to be listed on the NASDAQ.
Leading all of Team NDUS, is Jeffry Kim, the Lead Director. Jeffry’s got over 20 years of experience as a Game Designer & Producer; been a leader in NCSOFT, 2K Sports, and Nexon. He’s also overseen globally serviced games and platforms to over 150 nations, with 40 million plus downloads. The scope of work he’s been involved in covers recognizable games such as Lineage Eternal, Wars of Prasia & NC Universe.
The Story Behind the Scenes
Jeffry, the Lead Director of XOCIETY has over 20 years of experience as a game designer and producer. While developing games in Web2, he’s seen several major changes, the rise of online games and the emergence of smartphone games. And while working on games he saw that the rise of Web3 was another powerful change for the industry, and the need to use Web3 was obvious.
Major Milestones
Major Partners for XOCIETY would be Ben Mauro’s EVOLUTION. Ben who’s well-recognized in gaming has worked on Halo and Call of Duty.
XOCIETY also working with Ready Player Me to develop rigging and modeling-owned NFTs so that you can have them in the world of XOCIETY.
In terms of Development, everything that was released, all of the clips, and still images are from in-game and in-engine. Everything you see is part of a playable build. The dev team and art team recently had a death match you can see a clip of it in XOCIETY’s pinned tweet.
Killer Features
Firstly the commitment to being Game First in the approach to building out the project. Secondly, the strong experience of the core development team and the main leader group have all delivered high-profile projects in Web2 Gaming. Thirdly the strong visuals and overall look of XOCIETY, bring a consistent worldview and feel across every part. MJ Lee, XOCIETY’s Creative Artist was the author of Ragnarok comics.
We are already seeing these core competencies pay off. The dev team has only been actively creating a playable build for less than 6 months and it already exists in a real touchable state. You can see this from any game content that has been put out. All of it is in-game. If you’re seeing shooting gameplay that’s all real. Of course, the team still polishing hard. This speed and ability will serve well as the team moves into having test builds ready for NFT holders every 4 months.
Frontier Avatar NFT
Simply put, XOCIETY’s Frontier NFT Avatars are your access to the most rewarding aspects of XOCIETY. Ownership of a Frontier NFT Avatar will come with access to play testing, influence in development, and more.
There are plenty of awesome things that your Frontier NFT Avatar will grant you, both in the game world of XOCIETY and in the real world.

XOCIETY Frontier NFT Avatars are split into 4 grades, with each grade granting boosts to in-game benefits. Each grade will have access to extra customization, via skins — known as TEXTUS as well as other holder-only drops. All Frontier NFT Avatar will grant holders the same real-world benefits, regardless of grades.
NTx and the Mintlist
To get on XOCIETY’s Mintlist, XOCIETY has a guiding philosophy: No Free Lunch. You are rewarded for your actions, not for being able to spend aggressively.
NTx is a Soul Bound Token, that can’t be bought or sold, making it perfect to use as a reward system for community activity. By taking part in events and actions that help spread the word or help us to make decisions, Community Members can earn NTx. This NTx can be traded for Mintlist spots.
In fact, on April 21st we’ll see a brand new reveal regarding NTx, one that makes it even smoother to use and gives the community members more power.
Upcoming Updates
There’s an NTx update on April 21st, so make sure you are in the community, either on Discord or Twitter.
On top of that XOCEITY’s 1st Frontier NFT Avatar sale is scheduled for late May, and holders of these Frontier NFT Avatars will get access to early play sessions and chances to feed back into active dev every 3–4 months. The first one of which should go live in late June. So immediately after you get your hands on an NFT XOCIETY is giving you value and utility.
PART 2: Q&A WITH THE COMMUNITY

For XOCIETY, the MMOTPS core is divided into distinct phases, all of which are linked with strong third-person shooter gameplay. At a base level, players will be able to engage in Player vs environment action, earning rewards that boost their effectiveness in completing raids and boss encounters. Items and tools you earn can be upgraded and converted towards your goals. However, it goes deeper than that.
Shooting and looting are just what is called phase 1. As players progress toward late-game content they’ll open up opportunities for land ownership and development. Eventually, players and land owners enter the Live in XOCIETY phase, which will see rewards for the creation and management of items across the wider world.
The Land phase is all about blending three core ideas. These are Player, Resource & Creator Facilities. Ownership of the land isn’t just gated to who buys it. In XOCIETY actions will be your way of claiming ownership of land.
2. What is the #XOCIETY marketing strategy to get players, game owners, and asset owners to play and create their games on your platform? Also, what is your current project focus? — botman599#9442
XOCIETY recognizes the issues that can arise when running a strict Web3-focused marketing approach, after all an active player base is essential to the health of a game world.
That’s why the team is taking a blended approach, launching on established game storefronts like Steam and the EPIC game store. Coupling this with early access, slated for 2024, the project aims to organically grow the player base across platforms while exposing the best that Web3 has to offer.
And of course, the team is hard at work on partnerships with leading projects in Web3, helping to deliver extra experiences via interoperability and ownership of NFT.
Web3 Gaming is just getting started, so there are plenty of opportunities to get involved and to work together.

If you’ve filled out the NTx Registration form, you are on your way to Mintlist!
The next steps would be to be active in the communities that are regularly running events and activities to help community members get NTx. Once you collect it, just run the verification bot or, soon visit the NTx website and claim a Mintlist spot. It’s super easy and all the things you do help spread the word or help to give us feedback.
4. 1) Web3 gaming projects should be looking more at onboarding web2 or non-crypto gamers, how does XOCIETY plan on providing a user-friendly gaming platform to onboard web2 gamers and attract non-crypto users? 2) XOCIETY is a Shoot-to-Earn game but bringing these features and technologies together can be difficult. So, can you tell us how the development of XOCIETY has gone so far? Have you designed a game that has the necessary features to survive in the market? 3) Right now everyone is very excited about blockchain gaming. How has XOCIETY captured all this enthusiasm to direct it toward your platform and provide the best gaming ecosystem for users? How are they different from your top competitors? — Babycrypto#6130
XOCIETY’s team are all extremely experienced Web2 Game developers. Having worked for some of the biggest names in Korea such as NEXON and NCSOFT among others. On average they’ve been building games for over 10 years.
Building killer UI will be possible with their experiences and feedback from players, as well as regular testing. The team really does see it as a chance to build together and make sure that what they release is not only interesting but also works for everyone.
XOCIETY is committed to building *Game First*. With the team’s deep experience in Web2, they are set to reduce onboarding friction with Game Economy & Balancing, creating sustainable methods to keep the circulation of assets within the game.
5. 1) I understand that Xociety is a platform that combines Metaverse: NFT, and P2E. Can you explain how you would incorporate these elements into your game? What kind of experience will players get when playing on Xociety? How will they interact with each other? 2) One problem with most Shoot-to-Earn games is that they keep rewarding players with their tokens without considering the fact that having excess tokens in circulation could destroy the token value. I would like to know how you intend to control the supplied release. — JungSooRi#6499
Simple shooting and looting in instances lead to active players. As players progress the ability to pioneer land opens up. Players pioneer land by implementing a utility, like ammo resources, or player built experiences like guild halls, etc. By developing this, the land is controlled and players will create and experience game hubs and activity hubs. The more rewarding they are the more players will use them and the more rewards creators will see.
XOCIETY looks at the current space of web3 games, and broadly it can be split into two defined groups. Play and earn and NFT Holding and staking. Both of these have issues when the primary driver is to play to get a token-based reward. Either, players simply find ways to maximize the earnings, or new players are priced out as the entry point of the game NFT inflates.
For XOCIETY, the team is looking toward the free-to-play business model. It’s well established that gamers will pay for engaging content, after all the traditional game industry is a multi-billion dollar market. Adding to that not only do they invest time and effort into a game, but they also consume the in-game shop for player progression. XOCIETY looks at this F2P revenue, along with NFT revenue, as avenues to funnel back into the treasury and to act as a sustainable reward pool.
When talking about that “Death Spiral”, Daily average users for most game services see a natural decline over the service period. However, XOCIETY’s design director produced and serviced every town for seven years, and even with a DAU decline, in-app revenue stabilized and grew modestly.
This is possible by structuring long-tail store offerings with price discrimination along the consumer demand curve.
