Sorry that you won’t have a chance to celebrate this April Fools Day by listening to some of your favorite Kid friendly podcasts:( Many of your favorites have decided to take the whole month of April off from podcasting to focus on other endeavors like one handed knitting, lawn maintenance, bland cooking, true crime: parking tickets, and long form stories about filing taxes!

Just kidding of course! Check out some of your favorite kids and family friendly podcasts and their April Fools episodes.

What If World

“What if monsters were made of carpet, and each step you took it hurted cause the teeth were sticking up?” Cthunkle, Squiderella, and Scully think they have to scare chickens in order to get eggs from them. Could there be a better way? Find out in this EXTRA whacky April Fools’ story. Lessons include: Kindness and cooperation can be a lot more effective than being loud and scary; Messing with technology you don’t understand can be dangerous.

Circle Round

“When Fish Fly.” Variations of this folktale come from a bunch of places, including Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Ukraine, Russia, Hungary and India. In our version, a wise, clever fisherman tricks a foolish, gossipy butcher into minding his own business.

Noodle Loaf

Noodle Loaf’s April Fools episode Poodle Poaf is riddled with tricks, tomfoolery and an extra slice of musical silliness. From a fake advertisement for a new podcast for kids about umbrellas to a non-sensical echo song called Pizza Penguin, Poodle Poaf will get the whole fam laughing and singing together for some foolish musical fun!

ComposerDad

You know the classic Alphabet Song? Now I know my ABC’s and all that? It’s a bit worn out don’t you think? On April Fools, Parents everywhere come together to issue and intense compositional challenge to ComposerDad to come up with a BETTER alphabet song. Collaborating with Pamela Rogers of the amazing wordplay podcast, Buttons & Figs, ComposerDad unveils a timely upgrade for April Fools, and it starts right in the middle with M-N-O. It’s going to be a big improvement.

The Good Words Podcast

This episode of “The Good Words Podcast” is on the theme word,
“verisimilitude” (the appearance of truth). It features an excerpt
from the podcast, “How Do We Fix It?” on the topic of confirmation
bias, a “Do Over” with family therapist Emily King about “The Bully,”
and concludes with an original poem, adapted from the Aesop fable, “A
Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing.”

This Week In the MultiVerse

This Week in the Multiverse celebrates April Fools Day the way they do it on Earth 65: As a time of remembrance honoring the greatest pranksters the multiverse has ever seen. Join host S.G. Wilson as he learns about these monumental pranks…and gets pranked himself.

The Past and The Curious

We’ve found two of our favorite pranks from history. First, history advocate Heather Gotlib shares the story she wrote about the Berner’s Street Hoax, when a young British man bet his friend that he could make any random house the most popular address in their town of Westminster. He succeeded, much to the surprise of the confused people living in the random home.
Second is the story of the Count Fortsas Book hoax, when a mysterious book collector lured other collectors from all over Europe with the promise of an auction featuring the rarest, one-of-a-kind books in the world. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t work out how they hoped.

Story Spectacular

Let’s celebrate April fools day with a special all jokes episode hosted by Digger the Dog. You will hear silly jokes from Tilde, Birdie and even our real-life listeners. We will also hear some up-roar-ious Ani-Mail and make some funny animal puns. Happy April Fools everyone!

Time Storm

Twelve-year-old twins Alexa and Beni Ventura are sucked into an inter-dimensional portal where they meet a distant cousin who presents them with an incredible mission: travel through time to uncover hidden moments in Puerto Rican history.

Buttons and Figs

Nonsense appeared to be on a collision course with reason…presenting Buttons & Figs and the Oyster Actors on the Air in The War of the Foods…Fools. It was on this day, April 1st, in which weird happenings began to happen. Reporters began to report reportable events, reportable strange happenings, reportable odd sightings — a meat shower, a weird alphabet song, odd creatures sailing in a sieve making demands…what if it were all true?! Featuring voices from the pod-o-sphere, including The Past & the Curious, Composer Dad, and What If World. Tune in to Buttons & Figs to find out what the reporters are reporting this April Fool’s day. btw…does anyone have any stilton cheese?!

The Alien Adventures of Finn Caspian

Episode Title Prank Club 2019: In our special bonus episode, Jonathan has a very important message to share with listeners, and BeeBop does his best to keep him from finishing a sentence.

Good Stuff Kids Podcast

Happy April Fool’s Day! This year I pranked myself by skipping episode #189 and going straight from episode #188 to episode #190. Absent mindedness in episode numbering aside, it was a pleasure to welcome Sonia De Los Santos to the Good Stuff Kids podcast. “Sonia was born with a smile on her face (that’s what her mom always says) and she can easily find the things in the world that bring her joy. On ¡Alegría!, a bilingual album for families, Sonia thought deeply about the elements of her life that bring her joy and tried to capture them in her songs to share with others as she believes that these days it is more important than ever to find reasons to smile and stay grateful.”

But Why?

But Why: A Podcast for Curious Kids, answers to all of your questions about laughter! Why do we laugh? Why do we feel ticklish when someone tickles us? Why can’t we tickle ourselves? Also, we learn about April Fools traditions and hear jokes sent in by listeners!

Cool Facts About Animals

The Cool Facts About Animals crew looked high and low for the information they needed to research their episode on unicorns. But try as they might, they could not find even basic facts like what unicorns eat, what the horn is for, and what their favorite jokes are. Luckily, Professor Abacus P. Grumbler, resident What If World unicorn expert, was able to answer all our questions. You will not want to miss this informative and laugh-out-loud special episode.

Book Power for Kids

Blobby pictures, a cast of bizarrely shaped screws and a book that makes as much sense read backwards as forwards? The Power kids may be facing their biggest challenge ever as they take a break from respectable literature and review the Fjällbo instruction manual from Ikea!

Fjällbo instruction manual reviewed by Chaska, Leilani and Mirabel.
