The Power of Many
On April 16th 2016, tragedy struck the nation of Ecuador as an earthquake devastated areas in the west coast of the country. As the news spread, the aid began to flow to those in need and from one particular source in the Goodwall community. What started as a rallying cry for their country from a small group of amazing girls struck a chord with those within the community. Suddenly, an outpouring of love came in support of the girls and Ecuador’s message was spread across Goodwall and the rest of social media.
It’s times like these that reflect the power of humanity when they come together to support a cause. People from all over the world helping those that they hold only an online connection with, making the smallest of gestures which turned into the grandest of gifts. Raising over 12 thousand dollars in just two weeks, all of the money went to towards delivering urgent supplies for shelter and food as well as towards long-term projects in the efforts of rebuilding the once picturesque towns. Along with all the other aid that has flowed in, this should contribute towards ensuring a full recovery.

It’s incredible to see Goodwall being able to act as platform to aid such noble causes and to see the community respond positively to it. We may only be connected by invisible tethers that we call the web but there is a force much more powerful that we all have in common, and that is humanity. A massive thank you to Stephanie for bringing this cause onto Goodwall and to everyone who contributed to it.
