Magma project was initially started by Facebook (under TIP) but is now under the Linux Foundation umbrella and is unarguably one of my favourite open-source projects.

Hidden inside the project are multiple modules which are super cool that can be used as core network and other components to build a private and cheaper 4G network, once such repo is a domain proxy for CBRS.

What is a Domain proxy?

If you have no idea about CBRS I highly recommend watching this award solutions introduction video on cbrs.

so when you have multiple such CBSD (the small cell LTE base stations) you need a domain proxy to make your life easier, usually, the cbsd vendor will provide you with a domain proxy that works harmoniously with their cbsd’s but because of open standards between the CBSD<-->Domain proxy<-->SaS you are free to mix and match all the above-mentioned network elements.

Who and How to use it?

If you are a RAN soc vendor, RAN OEM/ODM vendor CBRS is the easiest and low-hanging market to capture because of the nature of licensing and the ability to install it easily, you can use this domain proxy and reduce the TCO of your customer’s deployment or sell the same dp by adding few extra fancy GUI and feature, with the craze behind Helium project these modules will come in handy for anyone to get into CBRS game quickly.

Find more about Magma Domain proxy in the link below, they even have a dedicated slack support channel for DP.
