Startups are also under threat from capitalization structures and investor mindsets that do not facilitate evolutionary growth at a time when the world needs adaptive approaches to the ways we live and work. Startups don’t necessarily change the world, nor can they change the world, if founders are not envisioning alternative realities and making things that serve the public good.

Immigration policies are not really the culprit — a lack of skills development is. And by this, we need to enable young people to think systemically about their ideas, whether they write code or endeavor to take on leadership positions.
