Strategically, SNP supporters should welcome some of the press criticism. The media is asymmetric — in the sense that everyone in Scotland knows a lot about core English politics (the Health Service, Local Government Settlement, etc, etc) but the converse is not true.
This is true for both media and politics.
We are seeing that with Ruth Davidson being put in a difficult spot by the Westminster Minister shagging off his holibags during the Fiscal Framework negotiations.
In this sort of asymmetric arrangement criticism that appears unwarranted can actually help the SNP. As an SNP supporter I am worried more about criticism that seems on the money (see the education debate — although I hae ma doots about aspects of it as presented).
The wild stuff actually is, on balance, good for us.
