Past Daily Is In Trouble — Day 4

How is the Patient doing? Funny you should ask.

Biting Our Nails

The start of our first full week of asking for your help. 17 days left of our Fundraiser and we’ve only managed to raise $63. I know most of you are staying away from the computer — most of you aren’t checking into your Facebook pages. These are rough emotional times; times of huge uncertainty. And someone asking you for a donation to keep their site going is probably not what you want to see or hear right now.

But there’s this: Past Daily is not about sending you mixed messages, or alarming you or telling you things that aren’t true. We’re not about eye-candy or click-bait or wasting your time with puff pieces or fabrications. All Past Daily is about is offering you history; just the facts — those moments in time that changed and shaped us — that became part of our history — the stuff we lived through — the stuff those who were here before us lived through — the stuff that made us tick and makes us tick now.

I’m not here to sway you — I’m here to present those moments, people and situations that actually happened and how we survived and learned from them. I’m here to introduce you to people you may or may not know about; people of note and notoriety who influenced who we are today — people who sought to lift us up and people who swore to bring us down — they’re all here and they’re all here for you to listen, learn from and discover. But it’s not all about the defining moments or the people of those moments, it’s also about our culture; the music, arts and accomplishments that are all part of our lifes experience. Music you may not be familiar with. Writers, Painters, people of all walks of life who sought to make a difference in our lives. Some who succeeded spectacularly, and some who have gone quietly unnoticed and some who never got the acknowledgements they deserved — they’re all here.

Past Daily is about many things — but it’s mainly about bringing them all to you — making them all available in one place.

And I need your help to do that. The time, effort and technology needed is huge, and I’ve been doing it for a while now and have been eternally grateful for your help and your contributions in the past.

But now we’re at a crisis point — we need to upgrade in order to continue and that’s why i’m asking you to give what you can over these next 17 days. Contribute as much or as little as you can, so we can continue giving you all we can — we can do it, I know we can.
