Brita faucet and pitcher filters use an indicator light to tell when the filters need to be replaced. There are times when the Brita faucet filter light doesn’t work. How can you tell when the filter needs to be replaced when this happens?

Traffic light signals play a crucial role in improving transportation. Similarly, the Brita indicator provides accurate information about the life of the filter.

The lack of accurate filter data can affect the quality of your water, so that your filter may actually harm you more than benefit you.

Brita tap filter lights may stop working after 2–5 years due to the non-replaceable sealed battery running out.

If your Brita filter is under warranty, you can get it repaired or replaced by contacting Brita support.

Brita water filtration systems come in many varieties, and the indicators differ with each product. It is difficult to pinpoint the exact cause of why the Brita faucet filter indicator stops working.

How do Brita electronic light indicators work?

Brita Filter is known as one of the best companies to remove various contaminants, such as Lead, Mercury, Benzene, and Chlorine.

In order to maintain water quality, Brita products have LEDs that indicate when filters need to be replaced.

The indicator tells you when the filter needs to be replaced after a defined amount of usage. When the indicator resets, the countdown begins.

There is no direct connection between the indicator and the filter. The timer functions like a timer, based on how long Brita assumes each filter will last.

It takes a few steps to get the lights to work, but once configured the indicator will function as expected.

Getting filtered pure water at an affordable price is also a great and fast way to do so.

The indicator on pitchers works as a simple timer, measuring how often you use the pitcher and reminding you when it is time to replace the filter based on how often it is used.

The indicator is not a necessary part of a Brita water filter device, whether it is a faucet or a mini pitcher. It serves more as a general guide.

It may be that your battery has run out if your Brita indicator still does not work after a reset.

There is no need for an indicator. Replace your filter regularly or when you notice the water starts to smell or tastes bad.

Brita’s Battery Policy

Brita filters are effective, as you know. The battery policy is the same for all LED smart light meters and memo indicators.

Indicators are fitted with non-replaceable batteries, designed to last from 2 to 5 years, depending on the model.

In the user manual, you can find this information in the warrantee section.

You can also use it when the Brita faucet filter light is not working due to a dead battery. However, you have to calculate how long each replacement filter will last manually.

How do I reset Brita Faucet filters?

With a faucet filter, you can drink fresh, clean alkaline water immediately for a healthy effect on your body. The Brita faucet filter has a life of 100 gallons or four months, whichever comes first.

When the time comes to change the old filter with the new one, you should know how to reset Brita faucet filters.

Step 1

Look at the filter indicator; it should show red or flashing light, depending on the filter model.

Once the indicator indicates that a new filter is needed, purchase a Brita faucet filter replacement compatible with your model.

Step 2

To operate the faucet, turn the knob or push the handle. Depending on the model, the water comes from the filter, not the faucet.

When the water is off, push the cartridge release button on the backside of the filter to release the cartridge.

Step 3

Lift the old cartridge to remove it. If it does not come out easily, push the release button again. The old filter can be thrown away or recycled.

Step 4

Hold the new filter with one hand along its base after removing it from its packaging.

Align the filter base edge with the faucet unit. Insert into the corresponding holes.

Step 5

Push the filter down into the system until it clicks. Let water flow through the filter for 5 minutes to activate the filter and remove carbon particles.

Your 100-gallon filterability is not affected by the rinse away period.
