It’s a small world, after all.

I’ve been home for a little over a week digesting & decompressing after six months in southeast asia, & one of the most striking changes in how I feel after the trip versus before the trip is that the world doesn’t feel so big anymore.

Before 2017, I’d wanted to go to Thailand for years. It just always seemed so daunting — mainly financially & time-wise. Then, I went, last September. & then I went back & did most of southeast asia in six months. & it wasn’t so bad.

I mean, when I flew back from Tokyo last weekend, I actually gained nine minutes (takeoff 6:10pm on Saturday, arrival 6:01pm on Saturday). Take that, Marty McFly! & Elon Musk says we’ll be flying in commercial passenger rockets within the decade — New York to Shanghai in 39 minutes.

I’m not here to tell you to take that trip or to drop everything & travel the world (although I can totally be that person if you want me to be) but if you want it, you really can do it. Promise.
