This is definitely something you should add to your bucket list. There is nothing more exhilarating that hooking a bluefin tuna and trying to last him which sometimes takes 2–3 hours depending on the size of the tuna, often weighing in at over 1000 pounds!
The captain, David Sansom, suggests that you should take something warm as the breezes may pick up and it tends to get chilly late in the evening in PEI.
Tide & Time Tuna Charters only have to go a short distance from shore in order to find the bluefin tuna.
They can be spotted from a distance jumping out of the water after their prey, usually smaller fish like mackerel and herring.
Tourism PEI has reported tuna being caught over 1000 pounds each summer.
To see the look of amazement on the tourists faces is really something to behold! Tourism is great in PEI and it seems to be growing each year, the number of people travelling to all corners of the tiny Island off the East Coast of Canada.

There are plenty of sites as you travel to the tuna infested waters of PEI. Some other species of fish are whales, seals, mackerel, herring, and swordfish.
