Holiday

The kid had today off from school for Columbus Day. That combined with friends visiting from out of town had us go for a morning hike at Cabrillo National Monument. We went on the Bayside Trail, which has stunning views of San Diego Harbor, Coronado, Downtown, and well basically everything. We were out and about for a little over an hour and even saw the USS Nimitz coming in to port.

This evening, while the kid had soccer practice, I went for a relaxed 4 mile along the San Diego river. I kept it super slow, felt ok and checked the box on some easy miles.

The weather is finally getting a bit more tame, which is nice, since the super hot days were pretty tough.

In other news, I figured out the issue with my Petzl NAO. Pretty much operator error. I forgot that Step 1 with a new headlamp out of the box was to take the cover off of the battery and connect it internally before use. Now it’s charging like a champ.
