Good UX designers must be fighters

U are so totally and utterly right. Good designs are made by one consistent vision, which usually does mean… one person — not compromising. Sometimes, rarely it could also be a team of people, with mutual respect and understanding of each other’s abilities and willing to put ego aside for the greater good (which is rare, also among designers).

But the problem doesn’t end there. I just wrote an comment about this this morning: Everyone thinks he has something to say about design. And rare is the head of marketing (or/and other affiliated business units) that will just say “great work guys! We are done here”. He will ALWAYS feel inclined to add his 2cents worth of design opinion to the matter. And worse even, there usually will be others like him, and I’m the end there is not much left of the initial concept.

It is a sad thing, and it happens all the time in big corporations (and smaller co.s, too)
