Goals

  • How does the mobile application assist in the execution of its ambitious bike-sharing ecosystem?
  • For usage of its mobile app in the drive mode where mobile itself will work as the bike dashboard how will the app provide and display the required functions for the bike while still making sure the safety to the driver by creating a distraction-free interface.

What is Bike-Sharing?

The Bike-sharing feature enables bike owners to share their Bolt-Z bikes with their friends and family members. This was people can experience bikes before even purchasing them.

Who are our users?

  1. Bolt-Z bike owners 🏍️
People who own a Bolt-Z bike can share it.
  2. Guest Rider 👪
Friends and family members of Bolt-Z bike owner.

Limiting the scope here by assuming owners are sharing bikes only with their friends/family. People who they can contact on a personal level by any messaging application.

What is our company trying to achieve?

Trying to increase market bass.

“The best way to let people want something is to first let them experience it”

This is the base a lot of startups are working on today. Providing 1st free purchase to make sure people experience their exceptional product. At Bolt-Z we’re also driving the same way, letting our users experience the fine masterpiece.

But why would anyone share their bike?

Insights according to interviews and discussions among friends.

How do we solve this?

Let's see how other companies are using various ways to motivate their users.

Thinking about our system

  • Who will get the reward?
The aim for any reward is to drive certain behaviour for that we’ll focus on both the cohorts here and provide them certain rewards for sharing the bike.
  • When will they get a reward?
Hook’s model help in deciding this, the user can use receive a reward after the completion of the task. Which is completing the Sharing.
  • How will they get the reward?
Users will receive the reward as a coupon which can be used anytime in future.

Why Monthly Incentives?

But how can they trust anyone?

It is difficult to trust anyone with your expensive items even when they are family or friends.

User Flows

User flow in the initial stage really helped in getting a basic understanding of the needs, what has to be done and also to make sure no flow is broken somewhere.

Diving deep into details for the owner

  • Entry point and cue
  • Know more and trust factor
  • Inviting a friend
  • Pickup and Access
  • Tracking Bike
  • Drop and reward

Rider/Invitee Side

  • Recieves the invitation and books
  • Downloads app and ride
Once user has booked the bike, Now he need to download the application to move forward.

Assumption: User has all the documents required for onboarding and is able to signup without any hustle.

What more could be done?

A proper onboarding for guest side is required to make sure that there is not theft or misuse of any invitation.

Providing more flows for and ways in which user can invite friends. Currently is only based on owner side invite. A demand side invite flow could also be thought off.

Working more on the exact offers that can be given to the users.

Problem Statement 2

What is a dashboard?

The application will be serving as a digital smart dashboard for the bike. The mobile phone will be clamped upon the bike at a non distracting yet visible place, while the handle controls and speedometer will be the bike’s hardware only.

Assumption: Handle controls and speedometer will be present and mobile will serve only as a smart tool and lock key to the bike.

What is the User Enviornment?

What are the problems with this environment?

Low visibility of the screen.
Due to the high brightness of the surroundings and constantly moving bike the screen visibility gets reduced.

Screen cannot be touched while in motion.
Since with riding a motorbike both the hands are busy at all times, rider can only touch the screen either while stalling or when not on bike.

How this dashboard works?

  • Unlocking the bike
  • Post Unlock

How does audio support works?

  • Drive Mode
  • Finishing the ride

Screen adjustment according to the sunlight

The app will automaticaly turn to light or dark mode by sensing the brightness of surroundings during day and night respectively.

What more could be done?

A bike status based dashboard whis will show options according to tha state in which bike is for example; drive mode, slow, heavy traffic, bumpy road, stalling, etc.

More audio alerts and cues can be added.

Voice input command feature can be added.
