Welcome! Today is launch day for The Governance Guru, a new thought leadership platform delivering fresh content on the hot topic of governance — one of the newest trends in security.
I have had the pleasure of working for well-respected companies like KPMG, Valdero, and now as a Co-Founder/CISO of Egnyte. After 20+ years of designing and deploying large-scale infrastructure for businesses, and now helping them protect it, I am very excited to be taking a more active role in the security community.
The Governance Guru started as a passion project and has evolved into something I am very proud to now be working on every day. My mission is simple: To help you protect your business.
In today’s digital age businesses are faced with new challenges that present themselves daily. People are moving faster, digital footprints are growing exponentially, and new technologies are constantly being introduced. On top of all that, new policy and compliance regulations are being implemented all over the world. Thus, staying ahead of threats and ensuring your organization is completely protected has become an increasingly difficult task.

The content you will see from The Governance Guru is intended to help you navigate the ever-changing world of security so you can put your best foot forward in protecting your business or the business you work for. I will also be making a concentrated effort to bring in perspectives from other industry influencers and thought leaders. We will discuss all of the latest technology trends in security, analyze news and events that are happening in the world around us, and provide thoughtful insights on how you can take action to protect your business. This will include compliance/policy/regulation (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.), data governance, data breach, encryption, privacy, and more.
One thing I am truly looking forward to when launching this new platform is the engagement. I look forward to meeting new people and having meaningful conversations around security, which is truly my passion. Whether you are a founder/CEO, a CISO, IT Manager, or simply interested in security, I would love to hear your thoughts on subject matter and answer any questions you might have.

There could not have been a better time for me to launch The Governance Guru than today — the first day of RSA 2019 in San Francisco. This is by far my favorite event of the year, like the Super Bowl of security conferences. All of the best and brightest security professionals in the world convening in one place, for an entire week.
