I think you missed Taleb’s point completely. The superstitions are ‘rational’ as they enable survival. We live in a complex system, and simulating complex systems to figure out the consequences of actions is intractable. Superstitions are practices that have survived for a long time and thus they have a certificate of being viable (though they may not be the best heuristic). Thus being superstitious is rational.
