Maybe not jewelry, but have you noticed the behaviour of the youth today? You can’t tell me that they provide each other with their ‘full attention’ — they all have their headphones in, their smartphones out and yet they still can carry on a conversation with two other people. 
I think you must be my age to have said that. :-)
