POC and MVP are not the same.

POC is throwaway code. MVP is on a trajectory to become full featured thing, but is not a throwaway.

We have a POC team here, they simply patch things together to test does something work (design-wise, or tech-wise). Their entire thing is scrapped later, as other teams recode their work in production level code, with proper tests, etc. The “P” in “MVP” is still “PRODUCT”. It has to work on Product level quality by all metrics. The fact it’s a bit “smaller” does not mean it’s not a product.
