Your final two warnings are critically important. Because of prior life experience, in the negative sense, people are often uncomfortable discussing their feelings, or the feelings of others, but if we strictly observe these two rules — to avoid the “I feel that” as opposed to the actual feeling, and the “You make me feel”, which is blaming or accusing another for our feelings — then we will generally be able to state our feelings without starting a fight or leaving others on the defensive.

But it does take practice!
