Mmini and Ọkụ

Mmini calls to me

She wants me in her bosom

She offers me peace

A tranquility I have never known

I step closer to her

Her touch is cool

She calms me

A tranquility I have never known

Suddenly I come to

Something within stops me

Ọkụ; she’s burning

In my head, my heart

I realise that I am her

She is me

And I flee from Mmini’s grasp

That Tranquility…

I don’t need to know

Not today
