100 Days To Awesome

100 days until 2017. It seems like an appropriate time to start a journal. Every year I make the same New Year’s Resolutions about weight loss and success and every year I abandon them saying, “Eh...maybe next year”. I even tried something different this past year and proudly declared, “I’m not making a resolution at all this year! Ha! I’ll show you 2016!”.

I'm sure you can guess what my results have been. Go ahead, guess...because I don't even know. When you have no goals, how can you possibly measure your success or lack of? You can't. You just end up wandering aimlessly hoping good things will come your way and complaining when they don't. You have no real control over anything and end up blaming everything around you and wondering what went wrong. At least that's how I've felt.

One thing is for sure, I realized that I’m looking at my next five years right now. It’s not horrible, but it won’t ever change. It won’t ever truly grow or flourish or fund our wishes. We’ll be older and we’ll continue to say, “maybe next year”...till there are no more years. And then our children will do the same.


Unless I change. Unless I do something different to change the direction of the next 5 years. There’s no reason to stay stuck in one place. I have every resource and opportunity to make it different. I’ve been working towards these changes and it’s time for me to take action on those goals and dreams. It’s time for me to pass on the knowledge and inspiration I’ve absorbed from those who are further along on their journey and pour into those just starting out. It’s time for me to move out of this middle ground and see what the view is like from the top.

I will work towards making 2017 my best year yet. I will continue to learn and grow and take action on what I want to achieve. I want to look back at this day next year and be proud of what I’ve accomplished and pinpoint today as the day I decided. My 100 days starts now. I’m reversing my resolutions and working towards starting out where I really want to be.

These are habits I want to have at the start of my New Year! I’m sure this list will grow and change but I’m certain of one thing…it starts now.
