Photo Essay: Working women of Gaza

We (Westerners in general) need more of this kind of writing. We don’t get to see beyond stereotypes enough for our common aspirations to be the rule and not the exception.

The mere fact that the piece stands out at all reflects the extremity of the perceptive distortion at play in the insane policy decisions in Washington with regards to Muslim people and countries.

As a stylistic aside, I wonder if the English title of the article might be better worded, “Photo essay: Career Women of Gaza” instead. Colloquially, “working women” is commonly used as a euphemism for a “prostitute.” Clearly, you’re not writing about that.

Keep writing and photographing and I’ll keep reading and enjoying it. Thanks for the splendid work.
