Curse of Strahd: Session Three

Summary

The heroes awoke by the side of a road and made their way into a large village. Two small children greeted them as they approached a large mansion. The children pleaded with the heroes to help them rid their house of the monster that lives in the cellar. Meanwhile Irena and Lord Arik searched the village for a healer to tend to his grievous wounds from the werewolf attack. They were able to locate one and after receiving treatment, made their way back to the mansion. The heroes split up to explore the house and soon found that a great many things were not quite right. Decorative wood panels seemed to change into ghastly figures right before their eyes. A decaying body of a woman was also found in the attic and even more foreboding: a strange letter was found from someone calling himself Strahd Von Zaravich. Strahd ‘s letter seemed to address the house’s owners as depraved cultists that he had grown tired of. Along with the letter the heroes also found a will that left the house to the children they met, as well as two deeds, one for the house and one for a windmill in the mountains west of some place called Vallaki. Clearly the heroes have been somehow transported to some unknown part of Faerun?

After finding the letter and deeds, the heroes ponder what to do next regarding the monster in the cellar and the altogether creepy house and unsettling and foreign land they have explored a little bit of.
