Well-rested Publishing Tycoon, Arianna Huffington, lets her hair down with a placard and a sharpie.

So Inspiring — I wish other change-maker genius types were so forthcoming!

Mostly, I’m thrilled to discover…where she stands…which is kinda on my neck…too much pressure…don’t twist your boot like that…can’t breathe…ack…run towards the light…I don’t see any light….MOMMY?!

Thanks for Sharing, Arianna!

It’s my microblog — I’m allowed to have an opinion.

I think Arianna owns a piece — of the creative underclass’ demise— not all of it. A chunk, for sure. That said, I don’t want to be mean spirited. Folks like Arianna could reverse course. Tycoons (often) do when re-considering their legacy.

One day, creators are going to get paid when the public shares the work. This global payment system will be painless, automatic, and (largely) an iteration of pre-existing models — SAG, AFTRA, whatever.

Currently, entire platforms are (parasitically) built on the backs of creators.

There are pre-existing systems (like SAG) that counteract this immoral wealth transfer — because corporate greed can’t be contained.

In the future, this residual system will be built into the ISP bill. Doubt this eventuality at your peril. At some point, the pitchforks come out — history is littered with guillotined aristocrats.

Ok, back to matters at hand.

SAG was created (to protect artists) because Greed cannot be contained. And, a Sag-inspired residual structure is not new.

For the investor, this residual system is going to generate way more personal wealth — than creating a bulk share platform that features short cat videos and/or fluff articles about trump outrage.

‘Someone’ is going to think bigger — eventually.

If you’re a .01%’er, could you be the savior of modern Western culture?

It’s the right thing to do.

Otherwise, we lose our artistic legacy as the only folks who create art are living on a trust fund.

This is not a love letter to SAG. This union has been combatting this problem for some time. A residual infrastructure has already been created.

This year, I’m happy to donate my Pro bono activities to this issue — so that the VC who invests in this system will become a trillionaire. Yep, I’m a realist.
